We are a small and friendly angling club based in north-west Hertfordshire, committed to improving and promoting fishing in the surrounding area, and to helping to protect the local environment. Formed in 1947, our open membership policy still provides access to a wide variety of fisheries in the area. Our 11 miles of canal, small and large river fisheries along with lakes and ponds cater for all coarse angling disciplines.
In recent seasons we have enjoyed a venue-sharing arrangement with Barnet and District AC, and a similar agreement with Verulam AC gives our members access to some of their waters near St Albans.
Affiliated membership of Reading & District AA is available to our members, as are reduced price day tickets on Tring reservoirs and Clattercote reservoir, Banbury.

Pay-on-the-bank day tickets (adult £5.00, concessions £2.50) are available on most of our canal stretches, and some of the club's fisheries have facilities for the disabled angler.
There is a busy club match calendar and all members will be made very welcome at these events, not just "seasoned" match-men ! Our summer Tuesday Evening Series has proved very popular since it started in 2007, as have our mid-week morning Old Codgers matches.
NEXT CLUB MATCH: Sunday 29 January 2012

We have a very active and successful Juniors section which is the envy of many other clubs. The summer Saturday teaching sessions, matches and barbecues have been incredibly popular with younger anglers and their parents over the past few years. The main sponsor is Amersham Angling Centre who supply all the bait for the Saturday sessions (among many, many other things !)
We are pleased and proud to support Iain Rennie Grove House, a local charity offering specialist and supportive at-home care and advice for patients with cancer and other life threatening illnesses. Each year we hold a number of varied events to raise money and although it may be a drop-in-the-ocean to them, they are always SO pleased to
receive our contributions and praise our efforts, even if they don't understand our passion for angling !
