Old Codgers match - 22 June 2011

A pleasant start to the day for the twelve anglers but the threatened rain moved in mid-morning and included a couple of really heavy bursts. Happily it had gone away by lunch so we were able to weigh-in and pack up in the dry.

Most people caught a fair number of fish although it was mainly small stuff and the landing nets were needed only a few times. Brian and Martin were on each end of the boats to the right of the wooden bridge and both had nets of small fish. Michael L was just past the gudgeon stream and did have one decent skimmer plus bits, whilst Mick S caught his fish on the concrete below the road bridge. Brian Elliott receiving his prize money from TTA Chairman Andy Allday Runner-up Martin Rodwell

  1. Brian Elliott - 5lb-11oz-8dr (inc. 0-11-8 age bonus)
  2. Martin Rodwell - 4-1-0 (0-4-8)

  4. Mick Sibley - 3-1-0 (0-7-8)

(GUGGS note: no large gudgeon; enrolled new member HaGe, Gerry Hall)

Third-placed Michael Lawrence Geoff Smith, apparently not interested in the chance of raw materials for some new quill floats

New TTA member Gerry Hall came dressed for a day at the beach ! Amazingly, no-one chose to fish right next to the gudgeon stream ...
