The Tring Anglers are pleased to announce their new collaborative partnership with British Waterways in the control of the coarse angling on Tring Reservoirs, namely Marsworth, Startops and Wilstone. Whilst the overall responsibility and management for the reservoirs as fisheries remains with BW, the day to day bailiffing responsibility will be with The Tring Anglers. It is essential that the angling rights on these famous fisheries are not endangered and continue to be available to the public. I am sure that together we will develop the coarse fishing facilities and promotion of Tring Reservoirs.

Tring Anglers believe that an involvement in the future of Tring Reservoirs is a natural extension of their current fishery holdings on the surrounding Grand Union Canal mainline plus Aylesbury and Wendover Arms. We feel that it is of benefit to all existing Reservoir users and the local community as a whole for a local club to have a vested interest. To reflect this, as part of our expanding plan of Junior Angling we intend to hold a couple of Saturday afternoon instruction sessions on Marsworth reservoir, in addition to our already comprehensive canal and river programme.

To clarify the new position regards angling:-

Day tickets will continue to be available from the bailiff on the bank with the following price structure. Members of The Tring Anglers and Banbury and District AA will be entitled to a reduction of £2 on the £6 ticket only. This concession includes BW Clattercote Reservoir, Banbury from May 1st.

• Adult Day Permit (1st rod) £6

• Adult Day Permit (if member of Tring Anglers or Banbury DAA) £4

• Concessionary Day Permit £4

• Evening Permit (5 pm till dusk) £4

• Second rod £4

The syndicate season angling permit allows an opportunity for night fishing and now includes Clattercote Reservoir. Vacancies are currently available. Details from British Waterways, or ring 01908 302556.

• Concessionary season permit (Senior citizens & registered disabled) £100

• Junior season permit (aged 16 or under) * £50

*Juniors must be accompanied by a season permit holding adult at all times whilst fishing during the hours of darkness.
